Hello...Our names are Mic and Nicole (or as our nieces and nephews say, "Micandnicole"--like we are one entity :) and we are so thrilled that you are taking the time to learn about our family! We feel very fortunate to be able to build our eternal family through the blessing of adoption and are hoping that through this limited space we have that you will start to get an idea of who we are, and more importantly--that you will be able to see how important family is to us.

We tried to include anything you could ever want to know. And under "More About Us" to your right you can find out even more! We know that even after you search our blog that there are probably other things that you would still like to know; please feel free to send us a message anytime! (Our contact information is on the right). We would love to hear from you!

+ Why Adoption...

We always knew we wanted to have children. About two years into our marriage, we felt it was time. After much time, surgery, quite a few procedures and many prayers from Mic and I (as well as much love, support, prayers and fasting from our families)—still there was no success.

We were still very hopeful because even though we weren't sure when our family would happen for us, we knew that our Heavenly Father was with us 100% of the way, and that things would happen as they should, and in the timing they should. We always knew that Heavenly Father had our children waiting with Him in heaven. We just needed to find the right way for them to come to our family...through adoption. We have been blessed immeasurably by our decision. We have been at peace ever since we have decided adoption is right for our family.

We are excited to start our family, whether it is with one child or with twins! Though this is not the way that we initially thought our family would start, we do know we will love our children from the first knowledge of their existence, because love is the most amazing and natural thing! Our children (however they come) will have more love in their life than they, or we, could ever express with words. Children are the greatest blessing we could hope for! We are also very fortunate to have the love, support and prayers of our families. Each and every one of them has been there with us on our journey to this point, and we know they are excited for these next steps!

We know that you have many difficult decisions in your near future, decisions that we will not pretend to understand. However, we want you to know of the love we have for you and your child. We have complete confidence that you will make the best decisions for you and your baby. This must be foremost on your mind because of the immeasurable love you have for your child. We pray that you will feel God's love for you as you are guided by Him in making these decisions.

We want you to know of our testimony of our Heavenly Father. We feel very blessed to know that he wants the very best for all His children here on Earth. Please know that even though we have never met, you are in our thoughts and prayers each day. We pray that Heavenly Father's love will be a comfort to you while you ponder the decisions you are making for yourself and for this child that you love so dearly.

+ Together Time...

Our together time is something we look forward to! We love doing anything together--even raking leaves or repairing a toilet can be enjoyable because we have each other to joke around with! We love attending sporting events together. Our favorite is going to our local university's basketball games. We also love our un-rushed times together: Playing air hockey or watching our favorite TV shows with some of our favorite snacks, and we never get tired of playing board games (we are both competitive and LOVE to win)!

Another thing that we love to do together is to travel. It is just so much fun to be able to experience and explore new places with each other. We enjoy any time that we can spend with each other, and living in Utah is great! Not only are we near family--but having the mountains nearby is wonderful. We love going up the canyon to cook tin-foil dinners and to roast marshmallows, or even to go tubing or to take a short hikes.

but we love going up the canyon (it is super close!)

We are very blessed with such a wonderful extended family. Since we've been married, we have been lucky enough to live within 10 minutes of Mic's family and within 1 1/2 hours of mine. Our families are always looking for reasons to get together. We see our family’s often--for every family birthday, special events and for other "no-reason-whatsoever" occasions. :) Family dinners are among our favorites. There are so many times that we stay up too late because we are having so much fun laughing, telling stories and playing games. Mic and I love each of our nieces and nephews! We love doing things with them—such as going and feeding bread to the ducks, coloring with them or frosting sugar cookies together—most of our favorite memories include our families.

+ A little about Mic... (by Nicole)

I hope that I am able to relate to you the wonderful person he is, so you can start to feel as though you know him. Mic is the most special person I know, and he treats me as though I am the most special person he knows. Mic can always bring a smile to my face. I am often smiling so hard that my cheeks hurt by the end of the day! Another thing I love about Mic is how caring he is. He is always going out of his way to do unexpected things for me. I cannot tell you how many times he surprises me with thoughtful gestures. I never know when they are coming, and I love it! He also puts that much thoughtfulness and kindness into day-to-day things for me. He is so perceptive—he will often notice the needs of others, and has an amazing talent in genuinely serving them. I also appreciate how family is such a large priority is his life…I love seeing him serving those in our family and seeing him playing outside with our nieces and nephews. I am amazed with his humble testimony and how well he listens to and acts on the promptings of the Spirit. I learn so much from him each day, about the kind of person I want to become.

Mic's Hobbies:
Basketball, Waterskiing, Snow Skiing, Golfing, Outoor Cooking, Attending Musicals and/or Operas, Traveling, Spending Time with Family, Running, Exercising, Celebrating Holidays, Eating Good Food, Playing Games with family and friends.

skiing since he was 12 years old!

-I could eat a whole batch of Chocolate Chip cookies...if I didn't have the willpower to stop :)
-When I fall asleep with wet hair,it is sticking straight up in the morning!
-I love a good laugh
-I like waking up early...to play basketball!
-I usually finish off a gallon of O.J. in a couple days, by myself :)

+ A little about Nicole... (by Mic)

I would love to tell you about my wife Nicole. She has so many traits that I admire and appreciate. First, I would like to share how committed she is to everything that she is involved with. Our family business can be demanding at times, and she is always willing to do whatever is needed to help me, our employees, or our customers. Even when we are faced with challenging circumstances, she cheerfully volunteers to remedy any situation. She is also dedicated to service in our church. She puts her whole heart into a lesson that she has been asked to teach, or into an activity that she is to plan. When we are blessed with a baby, she will be a full-time, stay-at-home mom. I know that she will be a wonderful mother by putting that same energy and dedication into helping that child feel loved and nurtured.

The next thing that is wonderful about Nicole is her unselfishness. When I get home from work, even when she has had a long day, she is more interested in making me happy instead of doing things for her. I love how she is always making my favorite foods and desserts (so far I have been able to find some time to run off the extra pounds). I remember that one time when I was gone for a business trip, Nicole had called my mom to get my favorite recipe of a Thai dish (chicken with peanut sauce). I am always starving by the time I get home from the occasional trip, and she had a heaping pile of fabulous chicken waiting for me. She does so many other small things for me, like scratching my back or running errands for me.

That unselfishness spills over to every other relationship that she has. She is a very outgoing, friendly person and can put a smile on anyone’s face with a simple conversation. It is amazing to me how she can meet someone for the first time and talk to them as though they are best friends. She is always making treats for new neighbors and does a great job of making them feel comfortable in their new surroundings. She loves inviting people over for games and sincerely wants to know them as individuals.

Another thing that I love about Nicole is how excited she gets for holidays, birthdays, and celebrations. Her enthusiasm helps make those around her happy! Our families get together for all of the holidays, and it is fun to watch Nicole help our nephews and nieces participate in the nativity, decorate sugar cookies, play Halloween party games, and celebrate any special occasion. Even though we do not have children, the two of us enjoy coloring Easter eggs, carving pumpkins, sledding, and watching Christmas movies together. We both look forward to creating additional traditions and lifelong memories with our children.

Nicole is a wonderful person, and there is no one that could be more compatible for me. I truly enjoy every moment that we share, and I look forward to spending the rest of my life with her.

Nicole's Hobbies:
Baking, Celebrating & Decorating for Holidays, Going on Picnics, Attending Musicals and Plays, Learning to Cook new things, Reading, Animals, Photography, Piano, Singing, Sledding, Swimming, Camping, Canoeing, Sending Cards to family & friends, Crafts and Scrapbooking.

Our Faith in Our Life...

"Christ is the center
of our home,
a guest at every meal
and a silent listener
to every conversation."

We know that Heavenly Father and Jesus will play an important role in our children's lives, as they have in ours. Attending Church, having family prayer, studying the scriptures and serving one another will be something we continue to do as a family. As we go through all that our Heavenly Father has in store for us, we will learn and grow together. As a result, we will be more tightly knit together because of the love and support we will have for one another. Our wish for our children is to help them develop their own personal relationship with their Father in Heaven, and to help them be prepared for what lies in their path--that they will be able to stand strong because of their knowledge of their own self worth and personal testimony.

Mic and I have both lived in Utah most of our entire lives. We have been in our current home the last 8 years. We love the city and neighborhood we live in. Our neighbors are fantastic, and there are always activities going on around town. And most importantly, we have family close by so we are able to spend fun times and holidays with them!

On Parenting. . .

I am excited to be able to stay home full-time with our children when they come. It will be wonderful to be able to be there for all their adventures and discoveries. I look forward to watching them grow and experience new things...watching their eyes light up with joy & excitement over the most simple of things. Since Mic is self-employed, it makes it so he has the flexibility to be at home for special activities and occasions. He is excited to be there for our children in the activities that are important to them, whether it be dancing, sports or music. I also wouldn’t be surprised if there were a lot of ball-throwing and tickling going on!

Having children will allow both Mic and me to grow even closer together as we jointly teach them. We know that children learn by word and example, and we are excited to help guide them here on Earth. We are looking forward to every milestone and each hug that we are going to be able to share with our children. We look forward to the opportunity of having children share the love that we have in our family. We are excited to offer them many different opportunities and activities to help them develop their own unique God-given talents. Most importantly, we want nothing more than to provide a loving environment where they can grow to recognize their true self worth.
